 ‘공부’

성인이 되고 나서야 알게 된 사실이 있다. 공부는 한때의 일이 아니라 평생 동안 함께하는 과정이라는 것.
이루고자 하는 꿈을 위해 무엇인가 알고자 하는 열정이 있다면 공부는 끝이 있는 게 아니라 계속 동행한다.
어릴 적 공부를 떠올리면, 작은 책상에 앉아 요동치던 감정과 그 속에는 혼란과 성장통이 있었겠지만, 어딘가엔 꿈과 희망, 열정이 함께였을 것이다.
그 때는 몰랐지만, 그 감정들이 공부라는 길 위에서 중요한 기류가 되어 이끌었을 것이다. 

‘면학분위기’

공부에도 기류가 흐를까? 마치 날씨가 기분에 영향을 미치듯, 감정도 공부에 영향을 미친다. 그래서 우리는 감정에 맞는 공간과 좌석에 유형을 만들고 감정에 따라 선택한 좌석이 곧 몰입과 집중의 환경을 만들거라 생각했다. 이곳, ‘STAND BY’에서는 몰입과 집중을 위해 감정의 흐름을 따라 공부할 수 있는 공간을 제공하고 선택한다. 

‘스터디라운지’

이곳 ‘STAND BY’는 지하에 자리 잡고 있다. 높은 천장고의 공간은 층고에 따라 상승과 하강의 기류로 나뉜다.
상승기류는 미래에 대한 기대와 희망을 품게 하고, 하강기류는 집중과 몰입의 시간을 갖게한다. 공간의 안쪽으로 들어갈수록 깊이 몰입할 수 있는 환경이 조성된다.
이 곳의 공부하는 사람들은 그날의 감정에 따라 나의 몰입에 맞는 자리로 자연스레 이끌리며 선택한다.
맑은 날의 상쾌함처럼 기분 좋은 날엔 활짝 열려 있는 오픈된 자리에서 공부하고, 지루하게 내리는 비처럼 차분한 날엔 고요한 자리에 앉아 공부에 집중한다. 벼락처럼 불안이 치솟는 날엔 잠시 운둔할수 있는 곳에서 집중하며, 때론 두려움과 고요함이 공존하는 태풍같은 날엔  대비하는 마음가짐으로 준비한다. 그리고 밝은 미래를 상상하게 하는 무지개처럼 환기의 자리도 있다.
그렇게 감정에 따라 자리와 공간을 선택하고, 각자가 만든 집중의 흐름 속에서 공부하는 것이다.
이곳의 궁극적인 목표는 단순히 책상에 앉아 조용히 공부하는 공간이 아닌 감정과 몰입, 그리고 그 너머의 희망을 함께 품을 수 있는 장소를 만드는 것이다.

 ‘STUDY’

There’s something I’ve come to realize only after becoming an adult: studying is not just a phase but a lifelong journey. If you have the passion to learn something for the dreams you wish to achieve, studying is not an end point but a continuous companion. When I think back to my childhood studies, I recall the emotions I felt sitting at my small desk—chaos and growing pains intertwined with dreams, hope, and passion. Though I didn’t realize it then, those emotions likely became significant currents that guided me along the path of learning.

‘Learning Atmosphere’

Can a current flow through studying as well? Just as the weather influences our moods, emotions also impact our study habits. That’s why we create environments and seating arrangements that align with our feelings, believing that the seats we choose based on our emotions will foster immersion and focus. Here, at “STAND BY,” we provide a space where one can study in tune with the flow of their emotions.

‘Study Lounge’

The “STAND BY” space is located underground. The high ceiling divides the space into uplifting and grounding currents. The uplifting current instills a sense of hope and expectation for the future, while the grounding current offers time for focus and immersion. As you move deeper into the space, an environment conducive to concentration is created. People studying here are naturally drawn to seats that align with their emotions for the day. On clear days that bring refreshing feelings, one might choose an open, airy spot to study, while on monotonous, rainy days, a quieter corner may be more appealing. On days when anxiety strikes like a lightning bolt, a secluded area can help regain focus. And sometimes, on stormy days filled with fear and stillness, one prepares with a mindset of resilience. There are also spots that inspire thoughts of a bright future, like a rainbow after the rain. Thus, individuals select their seating and study within the unique currents of concentration they create.

The ultimate goal of this space is not merely to provide a quiet place to study but to create a location where emotions, focus, and the hope that lies beyond can coexist.
